Bank Deposits

Settlement payments for BitPay merchants happen automatically, every business day. BitPay collects and deposits all payments processed from the previous business day directly to your bank or cryptocurrency wallet, according to your settlement preferences.

We protect merchants on our platform by maintaining enterprise-level legal and compliance standards. Tiered processing limits apply based on verification level; these limits can be raised through compliance verification.

Currencies & Settlement Details

BitPay supports settlement via bank transfer in major currencies like USD, EUR, and GBP. BitPay also offers settlement in cryptocurrencies like BTC, ETH, and USDC globally.

Fiat Settlement Options

US Dollars (USD)

Settlement in USD is available via ACH to banks in the USA. Once a settlement payment has been issued, funds will appear in your bank account after two business days. The minimum settlement is 20 USD.

USD settlements to banks outside of the USA are delivered via wire. The minimum settlement is 10,000 USD.

Australian Dollars (AUD)

The minimum settlement is 2,500 AUD. Settlement will appear in your bank account after two business days.

Canadian Dollars (CAD)

The minimum settlement is 5,000 CAD. Settlement will appear in your bank account after two business days.

Pounds Sterling (GBP)

The minimum settlement is 1,000 GBP. Settlement will appear in your bank account after two business days.

Mexican Pesos (MXN)

The minimum settlement is 1,500 MXN. Settlement will appear in your bank account after two business days.

New Zealand Dollar (NZD)

The minimum settlement is 2,500 NZD. Settlement will appear in your bank account after two business days.

Swiss Francs (CHF)

The minimum settlement is 500 CHF. Settlement will appear in your bank account after two business days.

Euros (EUR)

Settlement in EUR is available via SEPA transfer in select countries. Once a settlement payment has been issued, funds will appear in your bank account after one business day. The minimum settlement is 100 EUR.

South African Rand (ZAR)

The minimum settlement is 10,000 ZAR. Settlement will appear in your bank account after two business days.

Crypto Settlement Options

Cryptocurrency settlements are available either as the native asset of their blockchain (like BTC) or a token on the Ethereum network (like USDC).

ApeCoin (APE)

If you choose to take settlement in Ape Coin, BitPay will forward APE payments to your ApeCoin address on file on a daily basis. The minimum settlement is 50 APE.

Bitcoin (BTC)

If you choose to take settlement in Bitcoin, BitPay will forward Bitcoin payments to your Bitcoin address on file on a daily basis. The minimum settlement is 0.01 BTC.

Bitcoin Cash (BCH)

If you choose to take settlement in Bitcoin Cash, BitPay will forward Bitcoin Cash payments to your Bitcoin Cash address on file on a daily basis. The minimum settlement is 0.001 BCH.

Dogecoin (DOGE)

If you choose to take settlement in Dogecoin, BitPay will forward DOGE payments to your Dogecoin address on file on a daily basis. The minimum settlement is 1000 DOGE.

Ether (ETH)

If you choose to take settlement in Ether, BitPay will forward ETH payments to your Ether address on file on a daily basis. The minimum settlement is 0.2 ETH.

Litecoin (LTC)

If you choose to take settlement in Litecoin, BitPay will forward LTC payments to your Litecoin address on file on a daily basis. The minimum settlement is 0.001 LTC.

Shiba Inu (SHIB)

If you choose to take settlement in Shiba Inu, BitPay will forward SHIB payments to your Shiba Inu address on file on a daily basis. The minimum settlement is 10,000,000 SHIB.

Ripple (XRP)

If you choose to take settlement in Ripple, BitPay will forward XRP payments to your Ripple address on file on a daily basis. The minimum settlement is 20 XRP.

Circle USD Coin (USDC)

If you choose to take settlement in Circle USD Coin, BitPay will forward USDC payments to your Circle USD Coin address on file on a daily basis. The minimum settlement is 200 USDC.

Tether (USDT)

If you choose to take settlement in Tether, BitPay will forward Tether payments to your Tether address on file on a daily basis. The minimum settlement is 200 USDT.

Circle Euro Coin (EUROC)

If you choose to take settlement in Circle Euro Coin, BitPay will forward EUROC payments to your Circle Euro Coin address on file on a daily basis. The minimum settlement is 200 EUROC.

Dai (DAI)

If you choose to take settlement in Dai, BitPay will forward DAI payments to your Dai address on file on a daily basis. The minimum settlement is 200 DAI.

Gemini US Dollar (GUSD)

If you choose to take settlement in Gemini US Dollars, BitPay will forward GUSD payments to your Gemini US Dollar address on file on a daily basis. The minimum settlement is 200 GUSD.

Paxos Standard USD (PAX)

If you choose to take settlement in Paxos Standard USD, BitPay will forward PAX payments to your Paxos Standard USD address on file on a daily basis. The minimum settlement is 200 PAX.

Wrapped BTC (WBTC)

If you choose to take settlement in Wrapped BTC, BitPay will forward WBTC payments to your Wrapped Bitcoin address on file on a daily basis. The minimum settlement is 0.01 WBTC.

Exchange Rates

Merchants who generate invoices in a currency different from their settlement currency will receive the exchange rate as calculated at the time the invoice was generated, using the rates provided by openexchangerates.org.

Settlement Restrictions

Japan

Japanese merchants may not take cryptocurrency settlements in any foreign-backed stablecoins. This includes USDC, EUROC, DAI, GUSD, And USDP/PAX.

New York

Merchants registered in the state of New York may only take settlements in USD, BTC, BCH, ETH, or USDC.

Gibraltar

For merchants being settled via EUR that are located in Gibraltar, we have a settlement minimum of 2000 EUR.


Changing Your Settlement Settings

You can log into your BitPay merchant dashboard to set up the bank account /or cryptocurrency address you want to use to receive settlement from BitPay. You may also choose to split your settlement among any number of supported crypto or fiat currencies.
